Blocking up

Masons have been working these past few days on blocking up the foundation from the height that the walls were poured up to meet the bottom sill plates of the house.  There are still some gaps to allow the structural beams to come out, which they'll need to come back and fill, but they have completed the first step of the work.  They also used concrete blocks to block up the two chimneys.  All of it is filled with concrete as well to make it solid.

Here are views of the four sides of the house (east, south, west, and northwest actually) at the current stage.  You can also see some carpentry work has been done to replace some rotten wood along the bottom sill plates, mostly in the corners.

Also, while we were gone on vacation last week, the sewer line and water line were upgraded and attached to the main lines.  So that was a big accomplishment!

New estimated Move Back In date:  July 26th.  (Porch reconstruction can take place after we move back in.)
